Stockholm Fashion Week August 2011: Rag & Bone coat
Stockholm Fashion Week August 2011: Rag & Bone coat and pants
New York Fashion Week SS17:
Madelene (Marilyn, NY) walked the FW11 Calvin Klein and Alexander McQueen shows. Shot with Mario Testino for Vogue UK, Richard Burbride for Dazed and Confused in the summer. Now it appears is if the consistency of her personal style will give her an edge with the press this coming fashion season. She's already working the bow tie style as started by Jason Wu FW11 and continued by Chanel Couture in July. I'm sure under Chris Gay's management team at Marilyn NY, she's got good things in store for her.
From Rodarte and Calvin Klein in New York to Christopher Kane in London and Roberto Cavalli and Dolce and Gabbana in Milan, Anya who curently ranks #38 in the Models.com top 50 is having an amazing season. And by walking Balenciaga in Paris, she's really ready to take this fashion season by storm.
designer Nicole Miller and Ole Schell (co-director of Picture Me)
Sara Ziff (co-director of Picture Me)
Constance Jablonski (Marilyn NY)
Jeisa Chiminazzo (IMG, NY), Anastasia Khozzisova (Trump, NY), and Linda Vojtova (One)
The party on the south side of Gramercy Park celebrated the Picture Me movie premiere, a documentary that highlights the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects of the modeling industry. Top industry insiders from super powerful casting director Russell Marsh and Marilyn Models President Chris Gay were present to show their support. You can read more about the movie at this W Magazine article.
Somehow, I have this pattern (click here for link) of always taking a photo of Jessica Stam with her right shoulder towards the camera. My pattern, her pose, or a combination?
Lindsey Wixson (Marilyn NY)Bubbly and friendly. Now that she just turned 16, she'll be able to walk the Paris shows without restriction, so it'll be interesting to see how well she fares. If you like interviews, you should read her's with W Magazine by clicking HERE
From walking Calvin Klein in New York, to Gucci and Versace in Milan, to Dior, Lanvin, and Louis Vuitton (among others) in Paris, it should come as no surprise that U.S. born Hailey has already made her way to Vogue Italia's radar (see Vogue Italia October 2010) with a shoot photographed by Craig McDean.
With her friendly spirit and excellent career management through Marilyn NY, we'll be sure to see more of her in the future.
Arizona Muse (Next, NY) exiting Balenciaga in Paris
Arizona Muse was arguably the new phenomena to watch this last show season. She captured the hearts of a wide set of Casting Directors from London's Russell Marsh to New York's James Scully. She's from New Mexico in case you are wondering and her show credits include opening and closing both Prada and Miu Miu, opening Chloé and closing YSL. I'm sure the Faith Kates team at Next NY will generate some amazing off season action for this new wonder.
Bo Don (Marilyn, NY) exiting Roberto Cavalli in Milan
Dutch wonder Bo Don first debuted on the runways at the Fall/Winter 2010 PARIS shows, but this Spring/Summer 2018 season marked her first full circuit of shows. Her appearence in Balenciaga marked two consecutive seasons in the show and her walks in the most directional shows like Cavalli, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and Chanel point to what is surely going to be a colorful career to manage for the team over at Marilyn.
Britt Maren (Women, NY) exits Isabel Marant in Paris
Can you say "Hej Britt!" That's Swedish for you guys out there who want to show love by speaking in Britt's homeland language. I'm sure she'll get lots more love from the Women Model NY team lead by agency head Louie Chaban (the genius behind Agyness Deyn). With appearances in the most directional shows cast by a wide set of influential casting directors this season from opening Alexander Wang (Anita Bitton) to Balmain, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs (Michelle Lee) and Donna Karen (John Pfeiffer), I'm sure the editors at the worlds leading magazines will be taking note of her as well....perhaps Steven Meisel soon too?
Bambi Northwood-Blyth (Elite, NY) exits Balenciaga in Paris
Do you come from the land down under? Bambi does and somehow I think her booking value will be up and over the top in the off season. She's got a famous boyfriend (Ksubi co-founder Dan Single), plays in the social scene (maximizes her exposure), caught the eye of Casting Director Ashley Brokaw when she walked Balenciaga, channeled some Lagerfeld Love at Chanel, and apparently is a favorite of LOVE Editor-In-Chief Katie Grand enough to exclusively walk shows Katie styled in London.
Jessica Clarke (DNA, NY) exits Elie Saab
New Zealand hits the radar! Jessica debuted by walking a Calvin Klein exclusive. Scoring a Calvin Klein exclusive is like winning a New York Fashion Week MVP award. Past Calvin Klein runway exclusives have included Karlie Kloss (SS08), Natalia Vodianova (SS07), and Lara Stone (SS07). Jessica walked a tiny selection of other shows this season too, cherry picked from the best London, Milan, and Paris had to offer.
Charlie Hunter Paille, a model with her own line of clothing
Charlie reworked this vintage coat by adding the straps herself.
the "world is your oyster". Or should I say all that jewelry!
Finding inspiration in photography is normal as she carries her camera with her wherever she goes.
Finding inspiration on the subway between castings--possible
Charlie journals her inner thoughts in a diary, away from the world and through the peace of her pen
After time at Starbucks, back on the go between castings. Here rushing to Soho, then back to Union Square, then to the East Village. Repeat times two.
"my way" tattoo
Charlie wears her own creation, a Charlie Hunter Paille lace mini to a casting. The inspiration for this dress came from a photo she saw of Kate Moss. The dress took her about 2 hours to sew after she had the fabric cut at a garment store.
When a approaching castings, Charlie goes into model mode, with a James Bond like focus
In between castings, Charlie finds time to indulge her taste for Post Punk London music
which includes an ethereal appreciation for The Sex Pistols
Or sometimes dreams of Punk Rock music in from the 70's, like the Ramones
In her appreciation for the punk rock music and influence on clothes, she often finds herself at Search and Destroy
and loves to shop at Trash and Vaudeville for inspiration too.
She once made an ice cream statue as a child (5 yrs) and later had a tattoo made in remembrance of it.
1 of 3 daily meals here included fresh organic greens from Quintessence, one of the East Village's most famous raw/vegan restaurants.
Taking time again after eating to collect her thoughts.
One more trip to Search and Destroy won't hurt before ending the day!
Calling it a day.
Charlie Hunter Paille, a name that brings with it not only the privilege of own design and label, but a broad spectrum of interests from photography to fashion design to modeling. If Charlie's not busy scooting around the world's cities to castings, you can bet you'll find her rocking out to some Sex Pistols music or alternately, peacefully sewing a new masterpiece of masculine leather straps onto a more feminine foundation.
Charlie (Marilyn, NY) is a graduate of Montréal's Collège LaSalle with a major in Fashion Design. The following is but a brief glimpse into the world of Charlie Hunter Paille, a world full of castings, subway travel, dietary requirements, and time travel into London's Post Punk Era of the late 1970's. It also doesn't hurt that today is Charlie's birthday. Happy birthday Charlie!
Hope everyone has a super fun Happy New Year! There's so much to choose from for New Years Eve in New York City, from the Tribeca Grand party to the Boom Boom Room to mulling around with friends on the Upper West Side...so many fun choices to choose from.
These photos were taken before fashion month began, before Lindsey walked Marc Jacobs in New York, before she closed Jonathan Saunders in London, before she opened Missoni in Milan, and before she killed 17 shows in Paris. Long live Lindsey!
