In September at New York Fashion Week

Out shopping in SOHO in mid December

The first time I met Leigh was at New York Fashion Week in September. She was wearing a wool jersey top from Zara, her mother's belt made of twisted rayon rope and lurex yarns, and heels from Dries Van Noten.

Surprisingly, I ran into her again 3 months later while she was on her way to APC while shopping in Soho. Her leather jacket is from Helmut Lang, her top with the asymmetrical hem is from Inhabit, the scarf from Hong Kong, and her boots are vintage.

This is Moscow based designer Vika Gazinskaya as seen in Paris right before the Gareth Pugh show. I'd recommend popping into her site for a minute to check out her theatrically powered catwalk video.

This is Elissey Kostsov (pronounced the same as Élysées in Champs- Élysées), Fashion Director of Citizen K Russia and Vika . It was fascinating to listen to Elissey tell me about the challenges the Russian fashion industry faces as an up and coming nation in the global fashion industry.

I realize that Paris Fashion Week is already over a week past us, but I have so many shots backlogged from there that some are just too good to keep to myself. This shot of the ambiance at the Paris shows is one of them. Beyond the photographers storming Emmanuel Alt, you have the tourists on the left admiring all the action, the pigeon in the background flying away and the pigeon in the right foreground watching all the action too. All four of the latter define life at the Jardin des Tuileries: editors and stylists, photographers storming the stylists and editors, tourists in the background, and pigeons!

At the moment I'm packing for my trip to London to cover London Fashion Week but couldn't resist making one last post before I leave.

August and September were good months for altamira in the media. Besides having a few of my pictures show up at style.com, my photos ran in the August 20th style section of Aftenposten (print edition) which is Norway's largest paper, I was interviewed by the lovely Alie Suvélor for the September issue of Dirrty Glam, and I was also featured in the September 5th METRO style section (international print edition).

I don't know if it's the Hermès headscarf or the Roger Vivier shoes that I like most, or the fact that I just shot Russian designer Vika Gazinskaya yesterday, but one thing is for sure: this outfit has some serious strength in it's proportions, especially with her cropped trousers.
