  • I Am Home

I am finally home. I left the hospital yesterday afternoon. I am still in bed, but at least I am at home.

I am very thankful for all the kind well wishes and prayers. This has been a difficult time for me and for my family, but we are on a positive road to recovery and I really appreciate all the support of my blogging friends - I can't tell you how much your support has meant to me during this trying time!!!!!

I hope you ALL are doing well. I know you each have your own lives and I regret that I have not been around to support all of you in the things going on in your lives. I hope to be blogging more regularly next week and getting caught up on how everyone is and what has been going on.

Thanks again for being here for me.

  • Update On Me

I am still in the hospital. I might be able to go home on Saturday. I am feeling much better and really appreciate all the well wishes!

Tomorrow is my Little Billy's Birthday - I am going to post a Birthday post for him and then go back to recovering again.

Thank you to everyone who has been so kind to me and so caring. I hope to see you soon.

  • Boy Oh Boy!

I am so thankful for so many nice thoughts and prayers from so many wonderful friends - thank you very much!!

I am still in the hospital - tomorrow it will be a week I have been here. Today is the first day that I have felt well. I have double phenomena and was septic (I don't know how to spell that). My blood pressure was critically low and is now finally under control. I still have various problems, but am on the road to recovery and just taking it one day at a time.

This illness came on so suddenly and has been far more dehabilitating and painful than anything I have ever experienced. I am thankful for my wonderful family and friends for taking such good care of me and my family. And so lucky to have Billy to pick up the slack with the children and to also take care of me as well.

I am doing well - I miss blogging and I miss you all. I will not be back to visiting sites for a while, but wanted to touch base to say thank for your kind comments and let you know that I can't wait to get back to posting and visiting all of you soon.

I hope everyone has been well in my absense and that you all had a good Easter. I will see you soon.

  • Out Sick

I want to first say thanks to everybody for their nice comments about my new 'do'!

I am currently in the hospital with double pneumonia and I am liable to be here for a week at least. I will not be blogging so just wanted to let everyone know why I will not be around for a few days.

On Wednesday evening, out of the blue, I got really sick with chills and a high fever. The next day I went to a local clinic at the lake, was transported by ambulance to San Antonio and have been admitted to ICU in our local hospital.

When feeling better, you know I'll be back.

My sister Cheryl is the one who typed this post because I wanted you all to know what was going on. Please keep me in your prayers.

  • K-E-L-L-A-N

    K-E-L-L-A-N

People have a hard time pronouncing my name.

Throughout my life I have been called - CAROLYN, ELLEN, HELEN, KAREN - you name it. Unless it is important - I usually just answer to anything.

This is just because I have been so used to being called by many different names by teachers, parents of friends and strangers that just had never heard the name KELLAN.

It is still not a very common name. I hear it every once in a while, but almost always it is a name given to a boy. There is a football player (San Diego Chargers) whose name is Kellen Winslow and I hear his name announced every now and then on TV on a Sunday afternoon. There was a cute boy on one of those reality TV shows (maybe The Hills) whose name is Kellan. I've run across two blogs over the past year where a boy child has the name Kellan.

I don't like being called by the wrong name, but if I don't know you and won't likely ever see you again - it just doesn't matter. If you are someone I see every time I attend the PTA Board meeting and I sit on the board with you - then I want you to call me by my correct name.

YES - there is a woman on the PTA Board not calling me by my right name and I made the mistake of not correcting her - oh ... about 2 months ago - and now it is just awkward to correct her, and so I just let her call me Kee-lan. I just keep hoping she will notice that everyone else calls me Kel-lan and she will figure it out on her own. Hasn't happened yet.

For those of you that have wondered how I pronounce my name - it is KEL-LAN (sounds just like Helen, but with a K) - not KEE-LAN. I was named after a friend my mother had in school - her name was Mary Kellan. My name is Kellan Renee. I have a cousin that named her daughter (my second cousin) Mary Kellan. I wish I'd thought of it before she did - I'd have loved to have named one of my daughters Mary Kellan.

I know - some of you were wondering, and probably have even been saying it wrong in your head all this time - that's okay. I am doing that with a few bloggers that I have known for a while but am not quite sure how to pronounce their names.

So tell me - have you been saying it right or wrong?

(For those of you that don't care a thing about all this K-E-L-L-A-N clarification - sorry. Maybe you can come back tomorrow and hopefully I'll have something more interesting to post.)

Hi - I'm KELLAN - nice to meet you.
