When I think of red pants, I think of Balmain's as seen on spanish stylist Barbara Martelo, or of Isabelli Fontana's airport shoot with Terry Richardson for Mango. But here, Daga Ziober (Marilyn, NY) puts her own spin on things with red pants, a buttoned up oxford, and hint of animal print built into her rolled up blazer sleeves.
JBrand Jeans. Versatile--from American Vogue's Anna Wintour, to Paris Vogue's Emanuelle Alt, to supermodel Elle Macpherson. Here from the shores of Williamsburg (Stormi), to a post punk throw back to 1970's London (Dana), to a Brooklyn Staycation (Rachel), JBrand jeans fit the bill. You can upload your own street style photos in your own pair of JBrands at JWorld
Stay tuned for coming photos from Copenhagen and Stockholm Fashion Weeks :)
I saw Myf (Next, NY) down on Watts Street wearing what could make a festival fashion outfit. The shoes which she painted herself have a whole 70's Ken Kesey and the Merry Prankster's feel to them.
If you want to see what Derek Blasberg, Anna Dello Russo, Miroslava Duma, Stephanie La Cava, and Liu Wen looked like yesterday in their street style while jumping, have a click over to my NYMAG.com slideshow :)
Last night was epic in terms of personal milestone's as I was offered the unique opportunity to shoot the behind the scenes action of the Victoria's Secret for Pelotonia.org drive. Pelotonia describes itself as "a grassroots bike tour with 1 goal: to end cancer." So, 5 angels rode for the Pelotonia Charity mission to end cancer, including Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Lindsay Ellingson, and Erin Heatherton.
The night started early at Milk Studios were the girls received hair and make up applications. From there, we took a van over to Soul Cycle Studio's in Tribeca where the girls posed for the press and later went downstairs to ride bikes. All contributoins from the evening went to Pelotonia. Many thanks to Victoria's Secret for giving me the opportunity.
HAIR: by Frankie Foye--Braids to give texture and dimension mixed with textural pony tails. Easy way to contain the hair for exercise, but still have something interesting going on.
MAKE UP: by Ana Marie--Beautiful, healthy, fresh, radiant, glow. Curled lashes combined with waterproof mascara (top & bottom) for exercise. Sheer tinted moisturizer coupled with light lip stain for a fresh and natural look.
Annie (Major Models, NY) is fresh off the plane from Stockholm and new to the Major Models women's division for the last week. Besides that I shot her once before on the street in Stockholm, I always found the way she wears her hair to be interesting.
Danish model Josephine Skriver (Marilyn, NY) closed the FW11 Prada show, one of the most coveted slots for any model to walk. So not only do I think you'll be seeing a lot more of Josephine around, but you'll also be seeing a lot of hats floating around the coming fashion month.
You can also look for new updates from the coming Copenhagen and Stockholm Fashion Weeks.
Celebrate good times! My first photo assignment for the New York Times ran last week while I was away in Brussels. It contains 3 images of mine from London and Soho, NYC and is about round sunglasses for men. More models shots coming tomorrow :)
Stay tuned for a special photo montage tonight with even more Victoria's Secret Angel's as they ride bikes for charity to help fund Pelotonia.org as Victoria's Secret's aims to contribute more than 1.5 million from the proceeds to help cure cancer. And get this: participants who purchase tickets will have the exclusive opportunity to bid on a pair of Victoria's Secret Angel Wings, among other special prizes. How cool would that be walking home with an authentic pair of Victoria's Secret Wings? Visit Pelotonia.org for more information.
While the FW11 Lanvin and Marc Jacobs shows turned out girls wearing spots down the runway, Jac here goes a step further by combining her spotted cut out top with florals like they did in Sportmax. Given that Stella McCartney and Diane von Furstenberg also "spotted" their runways, I think you might be "spotting" similar spots soon.
Frida Gustavsson (IMG, NY) exiting the Jean Paul Gualtier Haute Couture show yesterday. Despite the street style photo "going down" in about 3 seconds, we still managed to exchange pleasantries. In the heat of the moment, Frida was predictably well mannered and polite.
"The Queen of Cool" as Casting Director James Scully has referred to Freja had two looks in today's Valentino show, including the coveted closing slot.
Aymeline Valade, the face of Alexander Wang and new model industry "it" girl. We chatted briefly about discerning the difference between the "real" people one can encounter in the modeling/fashion world and the not so genuine. More photos of mine will soon be seen on The Cut at NYMAG.COM
Imagine my surprise running into Sara Blomqvist (DNA, NY) on the lower level of Gare du Nord station today in Paris. We caught up for a few minutes before she had to jet off. Then when I arrived to my place in Paris, I was greeted with this lovely Dior invite. It was like the universe handed me a 2 for 1 special today. cardigan -- Acne bag -- Loewe
p.s. I apologize for the lack of recent posts. My Mac Book Pro was supposed to be fully repaired the day I left for Europe which was last Tuesday. At a last minutes notice, the video card was still faulty and the audio also went out. This left me traveling to Europe without a fully functioning laptop. Thankfully, my friend who works for Vogue China is loaning me his mac book for the remainder of my stay in Europe.
Sam wears black, but does it distinctively, as you can see with the "animalesque" print top peeking through her outer transparent top.
Sam (Trump NY) actually was wearing overalls. Instead of wearing them over her shoulders, she wore the shoulder straps draped around her thighs, as straps.
I just arrived in London this morning, so if I'm lucky I'll find some interesting people to shoot today. See you soon.
