The first thing that caught my eye here is the way Jeremiah mixed the diagonal print of his tie, and the horizontal/vertical print of his jacket, with his black pants and white shirt. I wasn't surprised to find out that Jeremiah is a fashion and commerical photographer in NYC.

I discovered this gentleman waiting for his girlfriend outside of Starbucks on Crosby and Spring. The shot I took with a flash turned out pretty good too.

This is Ana, a fashion stylist for the New York City branch of RUNWAY (another branch is in the Marais in Paris). I found her while she was on break sitting across the street from the Runway store.

  • Meeting with Facehunter

    Meeting with Facehunter

We had the opportunity to meet with Facehunter in Soho on Sunday. For those of you that are curious, there's no magic to asking for a picture. A direct, "can I take your picture" works just fine.

Yvan started Facehunter when he received a camera as a gift back around January of 2006.
If you look at his photos from January 2006, you will see that he started out by first taking pictures only of people's faces. While faces may be interesting initially, on a month-after-month basis Yvan felt the concept could grow boring. He decided that there was more potential to tell an entertaining and seductive story if he included the whole outfit in the picture and in May 2006 Facehunter as we know it today was born.

Kudos to you Yvan. Keep up the great work.

"Abbey Road meets Mercer Street" blogger style

A few months Jessica Schroeder from Weardrobe.com and I chatted over coffee about Jessica's dream to hold a blogger convention in New York before fashion week started. It didn't come as a suprise to find that Jessica transformed this vision into reality by bringing to New York 21 bloggers from around the country within the short time span of just a couple of months of work.

All I can say is that it was an amazing experience meeting all these girls and I'm half envious of the good time they had: a hotel room overlooking Gramercy Park, free meals in Soho where the food was shaped like tiny sculptures, DIY projects, new shoes, new bags...yet another way for serious fashion bloggers to make their presence heard in the world. Glamour.com, Seventeen Magazine, and a few other notable news outlets were there to report on the event that left this group of 21 girls turning more than a few heads on the streets of New York.

Black patent flats with socks and great design on the dress.

I loved the bow tie pin instantly.

Interesting Phillip Lim piece as worn on Lafayette Street.

I loved her pale skin, dark hair, and great color coordination with her layered skirts.

Striking proportions and layers on the coat...cool zippers at the ankles...most of the outfit is from G-Star.

Simple and effective: jeans rolled up at the ankles, cool suede colored boots, buttoned polo shirt at neck.

Nice Red sunglasses. You can see the front end of his Marc Jacobs Pan Am bag.

Tons of guys in The City can be seen wearing untucked oxford shirts with ties. This gentleman goes one step further with some interesting stitching from Diesel on his coat.

By employing an edgy haircut, raising his collar and tucking his pants into his boots he drowns out the effect of an otherwise potentially conservative color palette (blue denim jacket and khaki pants). Great outfit!

Last night on Crosby Street and Prince at the Crosby Hotel, Mary Kate and Ashley Olson hosted a party in celebration of their collaboration withSuperga. If you want to see what their sneakers look like, click HERE for an image on my instagram. The lights were flashing as fashion’s A-listers arrived in all their couture splendor. Everyone from American Vogue’s Meredith Melling Burke to Old School bloggers like Julia Frakes was in attendance. Ornate decor on the inside ripe with mini lemon trees accessorized the amazing selection of gourmet snacks and fruits. Mixologists tended bar diligently in the back. Meanwhile, everyone was oogling the new line of sneakers which are now available at the Soho Store. I say they are the perfect accessory for a photographer like myself during fashion month madness.

I found everything about this couple's style terrific. From the collar and sleeves on his plaid coat to the collar on her blouse, they made a great style statement to the streets of Soho.

Terry Richardson: random encounter in Soho outside of Olives restaurant

Fashion photography's living legend Terry Richardson while waiting for his meal from Olives to be prepared. For those of you who might not know who he is, click on his site at TERRY RICHARDSON and then click biography at the top to learn more. My guess is that he's wearing a Presidential Rolex.
