Totally random encounter with Olivier Zahm and Terry Richardson

candid shot--Terry sitting on the bike that Olivier just bought for his daughters birthday.

Terry Richardson as shot by Olivier Zahm with my camera

Earlier today I walked by Cafe Gitane on the corner of Mott and Prince street. There in the sidewalk cafe sat Terry Richardson and Olivier Zahm, sitting and enjoying each others company. While I may ask for a photo when someone is on their cell phone, I draw the line at when they are eating. Just. no.

So a few hours later I was walking southbound on Lafayette and discovered Olivier and Terry laughing and having a good time. Icognito, I snapped a few shots before either of them saw me. If there's such a thing as "divine intervention" then this was it. The universe putting me in the right place at the right time to capture two fashion industry leaders letting their guards down to enjoy each others company.

Terry Richardson: random encounter in Soho outside of Olives restaurant

Fashion photography's living legend Terry Richardson while waiting for his meal from Olives to be prepared. For those of you who might not know who he is, click on his site at TERRY RICHARDSON and then click biography at the top to learn more. My guess is that he's wearing a Presidential Rolex.

And if you haven't been to the blog in awhile, have a stop over to style.com and check out my solo High Line Street Style slideshow.

    Daga Ziober (Poland):

When I think of red pants, I think of Balmain's as seen on spanish stylist Barbara Martelo, or of Isabelli Fontana's airport shoot with Terry Richardson for Mango. But here, Daga Ziober (Marilyn, NY) puts her own spin on things with red pants, a buttoned up oxford, and hint of animal print built into her rolled up blazer sleeves.

  • Fun times with Hyoni Kang and Alexina Graham, both with FORD Models NY

Fun times with Hyoni Kang and Alexina Graham, both with FORD Models NY

What a pleasure it was to run into FORD Supermodel of the World winner Hyoni Kang (In Lacoste campaign alongside Tanya Dziahileva shot by Terry Richardson) and Alexina Graham (Burberry campaign alongside Lily Donaldson shot by Mario Testino). We had a rip roaring good time walking from Soho to the West Village as you can see from the photos. Just to let you know, Hyoni is pronounced with two syllables (hyo-knee), not with three syllables (hee-yo-knee).

    EDIT:
I thought I'd throw in the last scan just for fun as I personally believe there is a grain of truth to handwriting analysis. While it's not substitute for old fashioned due diligence when it comes to employment hiring practices and other important matters, handwriting analysis does serve a purpose in it's proper time and place. This happens to be the proper time and place--just having a GOOD time.

Notice how Hyoni underlines her signature and then ornaments it with a star? It makes sense considering how she's so well dressed doesn't it (dress and sandals)? And notice the sharp points in Alexina's "h" and "m" in her last name? That's anayltical....think.think.think.
